Sculptural Textile Art — Melbourne

Cloth.
Plaster.
Canvas.

Handcrafted sculptural works where textile and plaster converge — each piece a meditation on texture, form, and stillness. Made to order. Built to last.

About the Work

Where cloth
becomes sculpture.

Each piece begins with raw textile — linen, muslin, canvas — shaped and set in plaster to capture a single frozen moment of movement. The result is something that exists between painting and sculpture; tactile, dimensional, permanent.

No two works are identical. The nature of cloth and the hand that shapes it ensure a uniqueness that cannot be replicated by machine. These are objects to live with, to return to, to know more deeply over time.

The Process

01

Material Selection

Each piece begins with the careful selection of textile — weight, weave, and porosity considered in relation to the intended form and scale of the work.

02

Shaping & Suspension

The cloth is wetted, draped, and manipulated by hand over a prepared canvas support. Folds, tensions, and rhythms are composed with intention before setting.

03

Plaster & Setting

A mineral plaster mixture is worked into the textile, locking the form permanently. The curing process is slow and deliberate — the work is never rushed.
